Siargao's Bounty Seafoods Corporation (SBSC) holds a Sanitary No. FE-0586 and a License to Operate No. 3000008140372, and is located at N. Bacalso Ave., Linao, Minglanilla, Cebu.
The company started as a small-scale industry that processed products in the later part of 2016. The demand for abalone products was very encouraging, and company management decided to "toll-pack" their product in one of a HACCP-compliant processing facility. To provide more products to customers, management rented a facility at Cold Link Cold Storage in Tabok, Mandaue City — a HACCP-Certified Processing Facility since November 2019 — which was fully extinguished in 2021.
To expand its products — including Cooked Octopus, Fresh Cephalopods, and Antique ark meat — management leased a lot area as their processing facility on a renewable contract for 5 years. In May 2019, construction activities of their processing facility commenced in full swing, to completely comply with the Food Safety Program.
The Siargao's Bounty Seafoods Corporation compound is situated at the right-side portion facing the national highway road of N. Bacalso Ave., Linao-Lipata, Minglanilla. It is enclosed by a concrete fence protected by a steel gate with gray-colored paint. A 1,000-square-meter lot is occupied by its processing facilities. Its production facility consists of different processing areas, namely: the unloading, receiving, cleaning, tumbling, cooking, processing, blast freezing, packing, and cold storage areas.
The company has more or less 200 experienced workers who safely handle all activities in the processing facility — from the whole production operations and maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation of the plant, to preventive maintenance of plant equipment such as the metal detector, brine freezer (with a 10–15 minute freezing time), and tumble machine. A cold storage facility with a capacity of 15 tons and a 1,000 to 1,500 kgs/cycle capacity blast freezer is used for freezing operations to sustain continuous daily plant operations.
Raw materials are sourced from Eastern and Central Visayas, Masbate, Palawan, Samar, Surigao, and Zamboanga, and processed for export to South Korea.
The company's average combined production is 4,500–5,000 kilos per day. The finished products — frozen boiled (whole, slice, legs, salad cuts, taco cuts) and whole raw octopus, cuttlefish fillet, whole antique ark meat, and giant squid — are presently being exported to Korea.
The company intends to gain customers through continuous improvement and development of its processing facilities — to supply safe and high-quality frozen fishery products, and to continue complying with the national and international food safety and sanitary requirements for both local and export markets laid out by government agencies like BFAR, with the Philippine Regulation (AO 153 – Current Good Manufacturing Practices) as its basis for its food safety management program.
